St. Patrick's Adult Choir

“Sacred music is a treasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of any other art.  The main reason for this pre-eminence is that, as sacred song united to the words, it forms a necessary or integral part of the solemn liturgy.”

- Pope Benedict XVI

St. Patrick’s Choir is engaged in a unique ministry, serving God through music to enhance the Mass themes, honoring the legacy of the past and exploring beautiful contemporary works.  We endeavor to grow both individually as singers and as a group of well-blended voices.  We strive to sing with enthusiasm, precision, and beauty.  All of this is accomplished in an atmosphere of deep respect and great fun.

Normally, we sing at all 10:00 AM Masses except on the fourth Sunday of each month, which is the Family Mass.  Each year, we also present a concert at Christmas.  We are occasionally available to sing at memorial services.  We practice every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and add extra rehearsals in the weeks before Christmas and Easter.

We have the wonderful privilege of working with two outstanding, professional musicians, Deborah Benedict, our Director, and Nancy Spottiswoode, our Accompanist.  Our singers are all volunteers, and we always welcome new members.  If you would like to join us, please contact our Director at deborahbenedict@sbcglobal.net.

St. Patrick Adult Choir invites you to join us!  We have just finished planning a beautiful and varied selection of music for this Fall, Advent, and Christmas.  We would love to enhance and enrich our sound with more voices.

We practice each Thursday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  We sing at the 10:00 a.m. Mass on all but the fourth Sunday of the month, when the children sing at the Family Mass.  We meet also to practice one hour before Mass begins.

To assist those who do not read music and to help familiarize all choir members with their individual parts, our director, Deborah Benedict, has recorded all of our parts.  Bill Broughan, a choir member, is putting these onto our website, from which they can be downloaded onto CDs for practice whenever convenient.

There is great camaraderie and fun along with the overall sense of growth due to the two very fine professionals we have working with us: Deborah Benedict, our director, and Nancy Spottiswoode, our accompanist.  Come one Thursday evening to see if you would like to be part of this wonderful parish work.  You may contact Deborah at 924-0704.
